Billie Piper and Laurence Fox have told their friends that they are ready to have a baby together.

The couple tied the knot on New Year's Eve and have admitted that they are hoping to hear the patter of tiny feet in time for their first anniversary.

A source told the News of the World: "Billie's ready to become a mum now and it's no secret that she's been getting increasingly broody lately."

Piper has already given up cigarettes, alcohol and fast food in preparation for pregnancy.

The actress recently made an unexpected cameo in the opening episode of Doctor Who series four.

Billie Piper to reprise call girl role

Billie Piper is back as Belle in a second series of Secret Diary Of A Call Girl on ITV2. The series that achieved record audiences of more than two million in 2007 returns to the channel for a further eight episodes in September 2008.

Based on the best-selling, real life diaries of an upmarket escort, Secret Diary Of A Call Girl allows us a deeper look into the world of the glamorous and intelligent Belle de Jour (Billie Piper) – Hannah to her family.

Belle is now a high-class independent escort. Unintentionally befriended by the bubbly but clingy Bambi (Ashley Madekwe – Trial & Retribution, Drop Dead Gorgeous), Belle finds herself an unwilling mentor to this wannabe call girl. And while her best friend Ben (Iddo Goldberg), the only person who knows about her secret life, seems to be settling down into domestic bliss, Belle is throwing herself into her work.

But then Hannah meets Alex (Callum Blue – The Tudors, Dirt), the handsome doctor who she mistakes for a client in a hotel bar. Belle faces the most difficult question of all – can you keep having sex for money if you’re falling in love? Will the girl who thinks she has it all ever really manage to have a relationship?

Cherie Lunghi (Casualty 1906, The Brief, Cutting It) returns as Belle’s former agent Stephanie. Toyah Wilcox and Stuart Organ return as Hannah’s parents.

TV2 has ordered a third series of Secret Diary of a Call Girl before the second run has aired.
The drama, in which Billie Piper stars as the high class London call girl Belle de Jour, will be made as an 8 x 30-minute series by Tiger Aspect. Shooting will begin early in 2009 and it is expected to air later in the year.

Piper, who is confirmed for the third series, is widely reported to be pregnant and it is understood she is due to give birth before the end of the year. Filming for the second series of the show has just begun and the star may use a body double in some scenes.

The heavily promoted first series of Secret Diary was a breakthrough hit for ITV2, averaging more than 1.2 million (7.57% share) and attracting a further 141,000 viewers (1.53%) to ITV2+1. The first series also began a run on ITV1 this week.

It is based on the anonymous blog of Belle de Jour who purports to be a real-life prostitute and has also published two bestselling books based on her experiences.

E ovviamente è sicuramente un personaggio meno incisivo e popolare di Rose, che poi io non l'ho mai capita sta cosa, vero, magari che le persone ti ricordino per un personaggio solamente magari infastidisce...ma voglio dire alla fin fine che male c'è?

Ci sono un sacco di grandi attori che appena li pensi ti viene in mente quel personaggio particolare e per merito di quello magari sei stato invogliato ad andare a vedere anche i suoi altri lavori!

E soprattutto quelli di telefilm!

Bho...gli attori sono strani, ma non c'è da stupirsene...

Anche io penso che non ci sia niente di male anzi saei felice se la gente mi ricordasse per un ruolo perchè vorrebbe dire che sono stata davvero davvero brava!

Però ricordo che in un intervista di David si tocava questo fatto del problema di un attore di rimanere attaccato ad un personaggio, problemi che - mi pare - si legavano più a ruoli futuri... sai magari quei registi che non vogliono che il loro film sia visto solo perchè c'è, non David Tennant, ma il Dottore!

Non capisco bene neppure questa cosa però è vero che i registi a volte sono un pò schizzati XD

Billie Piper has banned her husband from watching her in 'Doctor Who'.

The 25-year-old actress says she is scared Laurence Fox, 30, will laugh at her when he sees her performance in the sci-fi show.

She told Britain's Doctor Who magazine: "He has never seen an episode of 'Doctor Who' with me in it because I won't let him.

"I get really edgy watching myself, and I get even more edgy with my loved ones because they know me and I feel they're going to take the mickey.

"Sitting down to watch my performances makes me cry. It's even worse watching it with another actor, because he can dissect your performance."

Billie married Laurence - who she met while starring alongside him in West End play 'Treats' - last December. She is reportedly expecting the couple's first child.

The actress played Doctor Who's assistant Rose Tyler from 2005 to 2006 but has recently reprised her role for three episodes of the new series.

Details of how and why her character returns have not been revealed.

Billie has also recently signed up to star in another series of racy drama 'The Secret Diary of a Call Girl'.

Study reveals Britons' 'TV traumas'

Britons, particularly youngsters, often fall in love with television stars and suffer "TV trauma" when their favourite shows end, a new survey claims.

The study of 1,586 people commissioned by Tiscali TV, investigated the role of the small screen in modern British life.

It found that one in three (29%) of Britons had romantically fallen in love with a TV character. This was most common among 16 to 24-year-olds (50%).

More than one in five (22%) felt depressed when their favourite show ended - also seen most among the 16 to 24-year-old age group (32%).

The most commonly loved TV characters of both genders were Billie Piper as Rose Tyler in Doctor Who (23%) and James Nesbitt as Adam Williams in Cold Feet (14%).

Women aged 16 to 24 were the most likely to romantically fall in love with a TV character, while men aged 55 or older were the least likely to.

Psychologist Dr David Lewis, who worked on the study, said: "TV personalities generate a powerful emotional bond with some viewers through seeming close, yet being unobtainable. This combination creates a strong attachment, which can be more potent than the one held with their own friends and family."

The study discovered that Britons' love of television programmes often related to escapism. One in three respondents (27%) looked forward to their favourite programme more than anything else in their week. This was most common for the younger age group.

More than one in 10 (12%), especially young people, said watching their favourite show gave them more enjoyment than drinking with friends, or spending quality time with their partner or family.

And 22% felt there was a gap in their life when their favourite show ended, rising to 32% of young people feeling this. And 31% of Britons in the younger age group cried extensively when favourite shows ended, compared with an overall British average of 7%.
